About Chatham County Criminal History

No single office holds every Chatham County criminal record. Jail and booking data stay with the sheriff, court filings remain with the proper clerk, and statewide history and registry systems are maintained through Georgia agencies. This private site organizes those routes for Savannah and the rest of Chatham County so readers can identify the right portal, counter, address, or phone number with less guesswork.

Why We Built This Site

Georgia permits public access to many records, yet access depends on choosing the correct custodian. The Chatham sheriff maintains booking and jail material. Court clerks preserve charges, filings, and dispositions. GCIC is the central state repository, while the Georgia Department of Corrections and Georgia Violent Sexual Offender Registry answer different custody and registration questions. We organize verified government contacts, search routes, fees, and request steps without combining those distinct records into one misleading report.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record-remedy information: how Georgia record restriction and related court sealing work

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Georgia court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot file record-restriction applications, sealing petitions, records requests, or other paperwork on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

Only the issuing agency - the sheriff, the court, or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) - can provide an official copy of a criminal record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.

Search Partners

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
